Anodyne Therapy

Anodyne Therapy
Introduction

The Anodyne Therapy System is an infrared medical device that can increase circulation and reduce pain. Anodyne Therapy can help to restore sensation in the feet of diabetic patients with peripheral neuropathy, along with improving gait and balance.

Diabetic Peripheral Neuropathy (DPN) is nerve damage associated with diabetes, the symptoms of which include numbness
and/or pain in the feet, legs and hands. If left untreated, DPN can lead to lower extremity amputations, reduced mobility and increased risk of falls.

Features

The Anodyne Therapy System is a box with eight pads. The light from the diodes on the pads is absorbed by hemoglobin in the blood, causing the release of nitric oxide. Nitric Oxide causes dilation of the blood vessels and increases blood flow to the affected area. Ultimately, the treatment can help form new blood vessels in the treated area, allowing the wound to heal faster.

People with diabetes, peripheral vascular disease (PVD) and chronic wounds are most likely to benefit from Anodyne Therapy. Patients who have benefited from Anodyne include those with:
